Thanks to the generosity of families, businesses, service clubs, and community members like you, the Mont St. Joseph Foundation was able to make a real difference in the lives of our Residents, families, and staff this past year. Together, we:
Supported the Spiritual Care Program for Residents, their families, and our staff
Invested in staff education, training, and development
Supplied and planted flowers on the front deck and Resident balconies, bringing beauty and joy to daily life
Upgraded tables and chairs in the Resource Room and Main Lounge to create more welcoming spaces
Provided three charitable scholarships to well-deserving local high school graduates
Partnered with the St. Thomas More research project on Non-Profit Long-Term Care Homes (“Getting Results”)
Provided free basic Internet service for Residents and guest
and so much more!
Why Your Support Matters
The Foundation exists solely to help Mont St. Joseph Home replace and upgrade essential equipment, furnishings, and spaces. With our Home now over 25 years old, many items need repair or replacement—and sometimes unexpectedly! For example, if a critical piece of kitchen equipment breaks, it immediately becomes a top priority so that meals can continue to be served with care and dignity.
These may not always be “glamorous” projects, but they are the practical, behind-the-scenes needs that ensure safety, comfort, and quality of life for everyone who lives, works, volunteers, or visits Mont St. Joseph Home. Over the next five years, we’ll need to address projects such as:
New living area cabinets and fridges
Commercial fridges and freezers
Dining room furniture
Repainting common areas
Replacing flooring and blinds
Upgraded med room door lock system
Laundry room renovations
Wheelchair garden
Stainless steel counters
Garage/van storage
Solar hot water heat
Upgraded video projection and speaker system
The estimated cost of these upgrades is more than $1 million, and this list will only grow as our Home continues to age. Your support makes it possible to meet these challenges head-on.
Celebrating Community Together
We are blessed with the efforts of the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors, who plan and contribute to events such as Grandparents Day, the Ball Drop Raffle, the Monty FunSpiel, the MSJ Charity Golf Classic, the Garden of Life, the Tree of Love, and other special celebrations. These events don’t just raise funds—they bring our community together, share the joy of life at Mont St. Joseph, and highlight the successes and challenges of caring for our Residents.
We are also deeply grateful to everyone who participates in the Circle of Care Monthly Giving Program, and to those considering a planned gift to the Home. Corporate partners, service clubs, Resident families (past and present), and friends like you make all of this possible. Every act of kindness—whether through time, energy, or resources—creates a lasting impact in the lives of our Residents.
Together, we continue to let the caring grow at Mont St. Joseph Home.
Community Supports from this year:
Royal Purple – Our ladies in purple have been wonderful partners of our Foundation and Home very many, many years. We love the relationships that we have with local community organizations and groups.
Thank You!!!!
Planned Gift – We were so blessed to have received over $200,000 from a long time supporter, volunteer and resident family member’s estate this past year. Prince Albert Rotary Club Annual Wine Premiere – Our friends over at the Rotary Club of Prince Albert have blessed us once again as the recipients from their annual Wine Premiere. This great night makes for a great fundraiser for our Spiritual Care Program!
