Artists at Home is a volunteer based art, crafts and painting program that is lead by Janice Jacques along with other volunteers. The group meets two or three Saturday mornings a month in the main lounge.
What do we do?
The Residents love to paint! They’ve created landscapes, flowers, birds, abstracts and more. You can see their work hung throughout MSJ Home. Their best pieces are shown at the MSJ Art Gala. The paintings are sold in a silent auction with select pieces sold in a “Live” auction.
How do we support our volunteer program?
Artists at Home is completely self sufficient by hosting an Art Gala and Christmas Gift Gallery annually. We also we receive small donations of art supplies from the community. With the generosity of the community and proceeds from their art sales, this program continues to grow and sustain itself.
Artists at Home gratefully invite volunteers to join them on Saturday mornings. The art group needs help portering residents to and from crafts, serving refreshments and also working one on one with our residents who need a little extra help during this time. If you are interested in joining our group, please call Janice at 306-953-4501. We welcome everyone to visit us on Saturday mornings!
Our Mission is to give and receive care and compassion for mind, body and spirit based on Catholic ethics and Christian values.
